Wayfair
Verified
Wayfair Verified was established to solve a classic e-commerce challenge: building customer confidence in product quality before they hit "buy." To reassure shoppers on quality, durability, and value, the program introduced a rigorous 10-point inspection checklist, with every single product vetted by human experts at Wayfair.
Operating within the Creative Lab, I led the strategic execution of this initiative across a multi-phase rollout. First, I established the foundation: architecting the omnichannel visual system, including brand-right color palettes, badging, and consistency guardrails. I then codified these into internal brand guidelines to scale across the organization. Finally, I deployed this toolkit to launch high-impact campaigns, including the innovative "Verified to the Extreme" (leveraging GenAI imagery) and curated, high-conversion listicles.
Phase 1: Auditing the Ecosystem & Pulling the Site "Toolkit"
When I joined the project, the "Wayfair Verified" program was already live across various pockets of the site, but it lacked a cohesive visual and narrative identity. My first challenge was to step back and redefine the overarching creative strategy. Partnering closely with a copywriter, we overhauled the entire system, establishing brand-right copy, intentional color palettes, and standardized badging designed to live seamlessly across every digital touchpoint.
With the foundational design language set, the work was codified into a comprehensive internal "Verified Brand Toolkit." This toolkit became the source of truth for the entire organization, ensuring that as the campaign expanded to outbound and multi-channel marketing, every touchpoint felt like a frictionless, intuitive extension of the native web experience.

Phase 2: Campaign Execution
With a unified system in place, we shifted from governance to activation. Using the new toolkit, I led the creative execution for major outbound marketing campaigns designed to drive awareness and conversion. This phase highlighted our ability to flex the brand identity across different formats, specifically through high-velocity editorial listicles and our innovative 'Verified to the Extreme' campaign, which leveraged GenAI to visually showcase product durability. To ensure maximum impact, we actively A/B tested these assets across channels, gathering critical, data-driven insights on our copy approaches and visual content hooks.
Phase 3: Optimizing for Channel-Specific Performance
The final phase of the rollout was rooted in optimization. To ensure our creative was working as hard as possible, we launched an A/B test of email content hooks across our email funnel. We are testing Listicles against the Verified Extreme campaign. By isolating and testing different visual and psychological levers (such as leaning into exaggerated awareness imagery vs. real value) - we hope to identify high-performing creative hooks that directly boosted customer trust and conversion rates. This test is still currently running.
